About the Rarity of Conch Pearls
Conch pearls rank among the rarest natural pearls in the world. Formed only in the Queen Conch (Aliger gigas) of the Caribbean, roughly one pearl is found in every 10,000 conchs, and only about 10% of those are of gem quality. Large specimens exceeding 10 carats with attractive color and visible flame structure are especially scarce. Unlike most other pearls, conch pearls cannot be commercially cultured, making every fine example a true natural treasure.
