Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and we encourage it. Photographs on a screen cannot show you how a stone behaves in moving light or how large a piece really is on a hand, and those are usually the two things people most want to know. Ask us for a live video call on FaceTime or WhatsApp and Wesley, our GIA trained gemologist, will show you the piece in hand, put it under the loupe on camera, and answer whatever you want to ask. Calls usually take ten to fifteen minutes, there is nothing to download, and there is no obligation to buy. Call (310) 550-5755, email info@JeweleretteandCo.com, or request a time on our Schedule an Appointment page. The same applies if you are selling to us and cannot get to Beverly Hills.
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout. We run discounts and promotions all year, so stay tuned for exclusive deals.
It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
You can contact us through our contact page! We will be happy to assist you.
Every item we sell is examined and authenticated by a GIA-trained gemologist before it is listed. We are also members of the American Gem Trade Association and the American Gem Society, both of which require adherence to a published code of ethics.
Most of our larger diamonds and gemstones are certified and graded by independent laboratories such as GIA. Where a piece has a lab report, the report travels with the piece. Call us at (310) 550-5755 and we will tell you exactly what documentation an item carries.
Yes. Third-party appraisals are available for purchase, and we encourage them. You are also welcome to have any piece appraised by a gemologist of your own choosing after purchase.
Always. As members of the American Gem Trade Association we are bound by its disclosure standards, which require members to disclose any treatment or enhancement a stone has received.
We would prefer it. Our store is at 201 S. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, open Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Schedule an appointment and we will have the piece ready and the loupe out when you arrive.
Yes, and please do, particularly with opals, where the play of colour only really shows in motion. Email info@JeweleretteandCo.com with the SKU and we will send additional images or a short video.
Yes. Every shipment is fully insured and requires a signature on delivery. You will receive tracking by email as soon as your piece ships. Domestic 2nd day shipping is free on all orders, and overnight is available for 30 dollars.
Email us at info@jeweleretteandco.com within 7 days of delivery and you will receive a full refund. Return the piece unworn and unaltered with its tags still attached. We pay for return shipping. Once we confirm your return by email, we will send you a prepaid, fully insured FedEx label with a signature required on delivery. Between 8 and 14 days you can exchange it or take a merchandise credit valid for one year. After 14 days all sales are final. Worn, custom, engraved, resized, and special-order items cannot be returned.
Resizing is free during your first year of ownership. Just contact us and we will arrange it. Note that a resized ring can no longer be returned, so if you are unsure about the piece itself, start with the return window and resize afterwards.
Our lifetime setting repair covers prong re-tipping, stone re-setting, scratch polishing, and head replacement, free, for as long as you own the piece. Separately, if a micro-pave stone of 0.05 carats or less falls out within the first year, we replace it at no charge. Repairs made elsewhere void the guarantee, so please come to us first.
Opal is softer than most gemstones and contains water, so treat it gently. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, harsh chemicals, and sudden temperature changes. Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, store it away from harder stones that could scratch it, and put it on after perfume and hairspray rather than before. Bring it to us once a year and we will check the setting at no charge.
Yes, fine jewelry and watches including Rolex and Patek Philippe, and pieces do not need to be in perfect condition. Evaluations are free, confidential, and carry no obligation, and we pay immediately by cash, check, or wire.
