Vintage 2.26 Carat Cognac Diamond 18k Gold & Platinum Pendant Necklace
A ready-to-wear pendant necklace centered on a 2.26 carat fancy cognac diamond, set in 18K yellow gold and platinum. The piece weighs 10.2 grams in total and hangs from an approximately 18-inch yellow gold chain.
The center stone is a warm cognac brown, cut in a bold geometric fancy shape and framed by a polished 18K yellow gold bezel. Around it sits a platinum halo pavé-set with round brilliant diamonds, following the pendant’s angular outline. The pendant measures about 0.60 inch high by 0.50 inch wide. A yellow gold snake chain completes the necklace, so it is ready to wear as received.
Fancy color diamonds are graded for both color and clarity. Unlike colorless stones, their value comes from hue, saturation, and rarity. Cognac diamonds belong to the brown fancy-color family: natural stones whose warm amber-to-chocolate tones come from structural features in the crystal, not from treatment in most cases.
