Vintage Diamond Ruby Sapphire 18K Gold Song-Bird Brooch
A songbird in full voice: head lifted, beak open, claws locked on a short white-gold perch. The head and breast are pavé-set with white round diamonds; the lower body shift into cognac diamonds—together 1.30 carats. A cabochon ruby in a yellow-gold bezel is the eye. Round sapphires (0.21 ctw) band the inner tail; round rubies complete the longer feathers, for a total of 0.40 carats of ruby in cabochon and round cuts. The brooch is approximately 1.75 inches and weighs 9.3 grams.
18K white gold carries the bright diamond fields and the branch. 18K yellow gold is used for the feet and the ruby-eye bezel. Rhodium-treated gold darkens the tail and lower body so the blue sapphires and hot-pink rubies stand out as separate feather colors instead of melting into the pave.
The contrast is deliberate: frosted white at the throat, warmer cognac through the body, then a sudden flash of sapphire and ruby in the tail. Compact, colorful, and ready to wear with the outfit of the day.
